Several standards for vibration testing of rotating machinery define limits relative shaft displacement during rotation. With requirements displacement, are given combined electrical and mechanical runout, which is the eddy probe reading error caused by geometry measured shaft. Some allow compensation runout vectorially subtracting them from current values. This paper presents a measurement procedure applying multi-probe separation to accurately determine roundness profile center point motion electric motor shafts. The movement obtained with tactile probes compared sensor measurements separate total an into three components: motion, runout.
